V – Day

17 02 2009

It’s not a victory day, it’s Valentine ’s Day. Of course, it would be a victory day for some lovers. Today, lot of guys have started writing poems, writing hikoos, buying lot of gifts & roses, shopping with girls. Now, your question is “Where did I go?”, “With whom I spend the day?” But my reply is I spent V-Day with my students in DBS as usual as every Saturday. I liked to share my experiences that I faced: a dog is not able to stand with its rear legs, a crow is pecking the head of dead crow, and there are 5 coconut trees with their heads chopped off. Is it a sign showing a lovers’ ignorance? I hope their success in love is their life. But the outcome is spending their savings for a partner. Of course, next year, they will spend this day for another loved one. There are exceptions in each case in this world. I would like to hats off to the guys/girls if they are marrying the loved ones and loving the married ones. Anyway, thank God, the shop keepers on the roadside, taxi drivers, auto drivers are getting earnings because of one more occasion.

My Birthday

14 02 2009

Birthday – I
It’s my 23rd Birthday and celebrated my birthday away from my home for the second time at kolkata. Do you mind if I talk about my celebrations? The truth is there is no celebration. As busy as a birthday boy with phone calls, messages, I reached my office at time. My birthday greetings reached me through mails as well. In the evening, my team mates bought cake for me and have fun along with veg Patties. All non-veg lovers were felt very sad but it’s not me who organised, my team mates did this since I’m vegetarian. Left office around 6:45 PM to Girish Park to worship Lord Venkatesh along with my relative. Thats it, my wonderful 24th year started.

Birthday – II
You have read my Birthday-I of the year 2009. Now let’s move to Birthday – II. I don’t have 2 DOBs. My DOB falls on 19 Jan 1986 according to the English calendar. According to Tamil calendar, it falls on ‘Barani‘ Star in ‘Thai‘ month. Actually, Tamil Calendar depends on lunar. So, there is no specific day for any occassions, we need to calculate the occassions according to the stars. There are 27 stars, 12 Signs and 12 months. It’s interesting right. If we look ‘Aadi‘ month, it has 32 days. We can explore lot of interesting things into these topics. I will update this post regarding that.

Viswakarma

19 09 2008

The streets are flooded with people, buildings with lights; pandals on each area, donation, prayer, music, shopping and everything have started in Kolkata. This is nothing Pooja festival. Though Durga pooja have not started, the Pooja environment was created every where. This week, 17th September 2008, Wednesday, we celebrated Viswakarma Pooja.

Viswakarma is the God of engineering or we can say “The architect of Gods”or “Devashilpi”. Brahma, being the Lord of creation, behest Viswakarma designed the Universe. This festival is deal with renewal of house, shops, vehicles, etc. similar to “Ayuda Pooja” in south India. But it’s not exactly similar. Now, I’m looking for Dasara since last year, I reached Kolkata @ the last day of Dasara. This time, I’ll enjoy with my friends especially with Bengali people.

Brother’s Engagement

My elder brother Balaji got engaged with Ms. Kamalee on 1st September, 2008. The function was held @ Blue Star Hotel, Coimbatore. The trip was amazing. Before the sun shines and the birds scream, we started from Madurai. It was a great day for me since I’ve seen most of my relatives and of course, a new family member. He is entering to the door step of his new life on 31st October, 2008.
