Plot

Jessie, a software developer in Polaris, is a daughter of Malayalee Christian couple. Karthick, an Engineering graduate, is looking for a place as a film maker and a son of Tamil Hindu couple. Karthick’s family is a tenant of Jessie’s family. From his first sight, Karthick loves Jessie and follows her at every place.

Excellent Scenes:

• Intro scene of Jessie in sari.
• Proposing his love.
• Beating Jessie’s brother in boxing style.
• Caught by Jessie’s brother in her marriage
• Missing her & her calls in Goa
• Climax (I won’t reveal)

Songs are excellent and positioned at right scenes. “Anbil Avan” is at the climax.

Though Goutham showed chemistry between hero and heroine in his previous action projects, he did a wonderful job in VTV as love subject director.

Silambarasan has to follow the same acting in his future ventures.

No words about Trisha’s beauty. Hats off and must watch.

My rating is 4.5. It lost 0.5 because of the slow in the second half.

Ayarathil Oruvan

The title suits for the Director Selvaraghavan not any one.

Plot

An archaeologist, Prathap, voyaged to an island near to Vietnam, to prove the survival of Chola’s descendent. Prathap’s daughter, with the help of government officials and kooli gang, went to find her missing father. Did they find her father? Did they find Chola? Did they return back safely?

Adventurous

First adventurous Tamil movie ever made. No-one expected Selva Ragavan would create this project after his success in various love stories. The 7 obstacles were very creative and opted well for the story. The graphics, that were used, were pity impressive i.e. it had grown up very well.

Lengthy

The movie ran about 3 hours and interval was after 1.75 hrs. The first half went very fast and fine but the second half didn’t reach the expectations, which first half created.

Violence

It had too much violence that made audience uneasy. It apt for the plot of the story. This film is only meant for Mature audience.

Gorgeous

The film has great value of Reema Sen and Andrea. Andrea acted far far better than Reema.

Unrealistic

Parthiban danced not as a king but as a Koole. All these false goes to the choreographer. Whoever it might me, he is very bad, without the knowledge of the dance (art – the right word) that a king should do.

Overall, it’s fine and worth to watch after flops from big stars. I heard, they’ve reduced 30 mins. Hope that will attract audience.

Vettaikaran

Vettaikaran – a hunter hunting the wrong doers.

It was too much crowded today in the theatre… Banner, garland, Milk abhishaekam etc…. It is organised by both ajith and vijay fans… They were saying “we are same outside India“.

The film starts (after 2 mins) with the intro song “Naa Adicha….” with his son Sanjay….. Tamil industry-ku adutha kutti vijay… . But second half mudiyala….

The story is a familiar one to everyone as in previous vijay movies… The film is a load of heroism…and it is a full fledged commercial flick…

Hero being a Town boy, after passing +2 in his 4th attempts, dreaming as a cop and do good to his society. He joins a college @ Chennai. The first half is whole lot of fun with Vijay, Suryan and Srinath…. quite enjoyable… Vijay forgot to button his shirt inside the college (even in class room)… There is a scene, about opening the windows, is copied from Beautiful Mind.

The second half starting is not bad…. but songs are introduced in unexpected timings… The transformation of Vijay from an ambitious student to a hunter is done in a song… I can remember Thirupachi at this juncture…. but not good enough…. Jumping from a water fall is copied from Apocalypto

The film is quite watchable except the last 30 mins… I don’t know what did the director try????

In short, THE FILM IS NOT UP TO THE MARK OF AATHI… COME ON VIJAY…. DO SOME DIFFERENT ROLES….

Good night… DON’T RUSH… YOU WILL GET THE TICKET…

Unnaipol Oruvan

I couldn’t imagine how one month passed away.   I went to Mt Buller (a hilly area near Melbourne), casino as well as few films (Inglorious Basterds and Unnaipol Oruvan).  Both are nice movies.  You can see my photos either in orkut or in picasa (http://picasaweb.google.com/ramjip.ramji).  Food is the main problem over here (for me being vegetarian).
 
Yeah… here the review of unnai pol oruvan.. 
 
The first day first show in Melbourne is 8.30 PM (i.e. 4.30 PM IST).  The crowd are standing outside Greater Union Complex, Melbourne to feast their eyes.  I am one among them.
 
The film started with two trailers: 
 
–>First one is Surya’s Aadavan.  I hope it would be another block buster for him in a row.
 
–>Second one is Jagan Mohini.  Namitha is acting as Mohini.  No comments on that.  Please watch and enjoy.
 
Now it’s time 8.45 PM.  RajKamal and UTV motion pictures presents “Unnai Pol Oruvan”. Once again hats off thalaiva.  I could remember the day how I enjoyed your various avatars in Kolkata.  Today I felt very happy about your new venture in this film.  It’s quite appreciable.  Though it’s a remake of Wednesday, the dialogues are rightly written and the sound sequence are too good.  And your acting is uncomparable.  The notable dialogues are
o “chennai la irukura ella police stationum standby la irukanum”
o “4 sim card oru cell phone.. endha kuppano suppano idha vechi meratti kaariyatha saadhichitu irukan”
o “Yes or No I need Binary Answer”
o ”Ramchand (I can’t reveal in public enjoyed in the theatre)”
o ”Onnu wife change pannuyaa illati cooker change pannuyaa”.
o ”Love you (by Police officer)”
 
Heart rending Kamal’s emotional eruption at the climax is added another star to this film.
 
There is no special track of comedies as in other films.  You could enjoy the timing comedies even in the serious tracks.
 
Sruthi Hasan’s background score is good.  As she emerging as a multi talented person, she proving herself as Kamal’s daughter. 
 
No need to appreciate Mohan Lal.  Every one knows him in acting that too as a police person.
 
Chakri toleti, as a debut director, did a great job.  He has a very good bright future in our Tamil industry.
 
The film got over by 11 PM.  Good night.   Enjoyed the film.
 
I saw Kandasamy but I didn’t like it.

Kambakkht Ishq

Viraj, a stunt actor, playing different stunt roles for most of the famous Hollywood actors. His interests are girls, parties and stunts but not marriage.

Simrita, a doctor, a part time model and a hardened feminist. Of course, she also not interested in marriage.

It’s a remake of a Tamil movie “Pambal K Sambandam” (PKS). PKS is a descent movie. Universal Star PadmaShree Dr. Kamal Hasan did an awesome role. Hats off to the team.

Go and watch with your friends only and not with your family. That’s my first suggestion. Don’t expect the same screen play as of PKS. According to me, it should be A rated. I didn’t expect an Indian film to be like this by exposing skin and worst dialogues.

Kareena and Amrita start acting and stop showing.

Because of Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone and Denise Richard, I rate this movie as 2 out 5
